Its time to start jumping again.
As spring has set into full effect and my winter doldrums are slowly fading away, I find myself already planning for the summer. I can’t help but over plan every season because I know it will force more out of me. So here I am, taking an active inventory of my usual summer gear that has been staring at me from the corner of my garage. All slightly dust covered of course. My first thought? Where can I go find a bunch of cheep sky jumps?
For most of us that love this life style, we know the local field is going to cost us a small fortune. However, with a little bit of research and some clever reading there are all kinds of alternatives. To start with, www.jumpticketprices.com is one of my favorites. If you don’t mind doing a little bit of traveling you can find package jumps for as low as $12.00 per jump. I think traveling and meeting new divers is half the fun. Sometimes you have to travel farther than you normally would consider for jumping in order to find the good prices. But hey lets be honest here! I love sleeping in my tent and packing my food.
There is also the drop zone database. You may not have even considered some drop sites that are only a couple hours drive from where you are. There are of course many, many more options for finding drop zones. Just be sure to get out there and get the season started.
