Basic Tips for Shopping for Clothes on a Budget
Shopping for nice clothes doesn’t have to break the bank. So many guys spend so much money on fashion and accessories it is ridiculous.
Sorry boys, but women do not care where you got your clothes (and if they do, you may want to get out now, you will not afford their tastes down the road!). The important thing is to look nice. That’s it, pretty simple hey?
Looking good doesn’t cost a lot of money, however. You can simply spend $100 at the mall on a Saturday and get potentially 2-3 outfits (depending on what you consider an outfit to be).
Recently I went shopping and came away with a ton of stuff. It doesn’t have to be expensive, here are some basic tips for shopping for clothes on a budget:
- Shop during bargain events. Pretty simple right? Keep an eye out when you are watching tv and take advantage of the practically weekly sales that most department and clothing stores have. Never buy clothes for full retail (except below).
- Shop for only things you need. You probably do not need more than five pairs of jeans, period. Make sure they fit nice and buy the same brand if you are picky, but shop smart. Most of the time, you can get buy one get the second 1/2 off (Express Men does this a lot, I love me their jeans).
- Don’t shop at the super name brand stores. Unless you are going straight to the back, stay out of stores like American Eagle or Abercrombie. Don’t let the loud music and horrible smells seduce you, do not buy something for retail at these stores, they are outrageously priced and poor quality for the most part.
- Shop at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx. I can not stress this enough, I bought 5 shirts there for a little over $65 dollars. Shirts, not t-shirts. I got nice polo and short sleeve dress shirts (my favorite) for anywhere from $12.99-16.99 and they are all perfect.
Don’t get suckered into the latest fads, find a style that is reasonably priced and comfortable and buy the heck out of their products.
